Cookie policy

This site has no cookie banner. That is not an oversight: we use no cookie that requires your consent.

1. What cookies exist

  • Supabase session cookies: keep you signed in while you study.
  • Language cookie: remembers the language you picked, for one year.
  • Referral cookie: only created if you arrived through a campaign link — a QR code, an email from a relocation agency, a link on social media. It stores nothing but the label of that channel, so we can note where you came from if you end up creating an account. It lasts as long as the browser window and is deleted the moment you sign up. Arrive on your own and none is created.

2. Why there is no banner

Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive requires consent to store information on your device, except where it is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for. All three cookies above fall within that exception: one keeps you signed in, one remembers a choice you made yourself, and the third completes the sign-up you started by clicking a particular link.

The referral one deserves an extra sentence, because it is the only one that sounds like marketing. It holds no identifier of yours: just a text label that was written into the link you clicked. It cannot recognise you between visits, it is not combined with data from other sites, it is shared with nobody, and it dies when you close the browser. There is no profiling here — there is a count of which channel people arrive through.

There is no analytics, no advertising and no third-party cookies. Showing a banner to ask permission for something that needs no permission would only train you to accept without reading.

3. If this changes

The day we add analytics or any non-essential cookie, a real banner will appear — with a reject option as visible as the accept one — and this document will be updated before the first cookie is set.

4. Video player

Videos are served from Bunny.net inside the European Union. The player may use local storage to remember your chosen quality and volume. If you block browser storage the video still plays; you only lose those preferences.
